Dance as a Bridge

Connecting communities through Colombian art

At Cultural Dance Center, performance is not a separate activity from teaching — it is the natural expression of everything our students learn. From their first rehearsal to their first stage appearance, our dancers grow in discipline, artistry, and cultural pride.

Since our founding in 2016, we have been invited to perform at events ranging from neighborhood festivals to diplomatic residencies, carrying the spirit of Colombian folklore to audiences across Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland.

Community Festival

Latin American Festival

One of Washington DC’s most beloved annual celebrations of Latin American culture, music, and dance. Cultural Dance Center has been a proud participant, bringing the vibrant colors and rhythms of Colombian folklore to thousands of attendees across the city.

Our Rose Project students perform traditional dances in full costume — often their first experience performing for a large public audience.

Diplomatic Residency

Colombian Ambassador’s Residency

A prestigious invitation to perform at the official residence of the Colombian Ambassador to the United States. This event brought together members of the diplomatic community, Colombian diaspora, and cultural leaders from across Washington DC.

Our dancers presented a curated program of Colombian regional dances — cumbia, porro, and mapalé — representing the full breadth of Colombia’s cultural heritage.
